Our annual Awards Dinner will feature also Jake Bailey as guest speaker.  You may recognise Jake from his moving Senior Monitor speech, having now reached 1.7M views on YouTube. In 2015 Jake Bailey was diagnosed with stage 4 Burkitt’s Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. Now in remission, his journey is teaching us all – how to live. The Common Touch, a documentary on his life, encapsulates Jake’s journey and can be found here.

At this NZAGE event, Clare Montgomerie, Senior Manager PwC New Zealand, will talk about some changes that have been introduced and implemented by the New Zealand government to help employers access and retain global skills and knowledge. Find out why (and how) New Zealanders and non-New Zealanders studying in New Zealand universities are now competing on a level-playing field for graduate job opportunities.

We’ll also be updating you on the NZAGE Summit to be held in October, this year with a focus on Diversity. This is also a great chance to network with other HR/Recruitment professionals in the Christchurch area.

About the speaker:

Clare Montgomerie is a Senior Manager at PricewaterhouseCoopers and leads their immigration and global mobility team.  She has several years’ experience specialising in Immigration and is known for her involvement in establishing the "blue print" to International Recruitment for two of the largest health organisations in New Zealand. Clare has worked as part of a candidate care team specialising in sourcing, recruiting and relocating international candidates using a unique Candidate Care model.

She has lead PwC's Global Mobility practice as well as holding the Recruitment Manager role which included strategic responsibility of their Graduate Recruitment and Scholarship programs.

Clare is a fully licensed immigration advisor with the New Zealand Immigration Advisors Authority. She graduated from the Auckland University of Technology with a Bachelor of Business (international business), she holds a graduate diploma in business and a diploma in Japanese.

At this NZAGE event, Clare will present on the changes and improvements INZ have made to the post study work category and give you the tools to be able to confidently hire NZ graduates on foreign passports. This will ensure your organisation hires on skills rather than visa status.

Jon is Head of Talking and one of the founding partners of Mosh Social Media - NZ's leading Social Media Agency. Mosh is a 5 year old company with a focus on removing the mystique of social media to provide simple solutions. 

Jon‘s focus is business development and when meeting clients he identifies how Mosh can help them meet their business objectives, through the use of social media. Jon has a knack for listening to clients and believes the key is to add value through content to the end user, rather than interrupting their spare time.

Some of Mosh’s clients include Panasonic, the Wynyard Group, Hells Pizza, Scoop and APN. 

Jon’s background is various and interesting - prior to starting Mosh, he gained a degree in English Literature and Classical Studies, has managed an English language school in Japan, as well as being a business banking manager.

Annual NZAGE Summit

The 2012 NZAGE Summit “Leaders of the Future” brought together New Zealand graduate employers, suppliers and tertiary providers across all industries for an informative and interactive day of presentations, panel sessions and workshops.

The aim of this event is to explore key issues and challenges facing the graduate industry, while providing delegates with the opportunity to explore solutions, share ideas and hear about recent trends from industry experts.

In 2012 a full day event was open to graduate employers, suppliers, those interested in establishing Graduate programmes in their organisation, tertiary providers or to anyone involved in the attraction, selection and development of graduate talent. The event was very successful with more than 80 delegates in attendance representing New Zealand Employers, Suppliers, University Career Services and a large contingent of international delegates.
